Hello, Ok all you mando players, I need your help with this one! I just bought a Fender FM-63S and I HATE it! It buzzes like MAD and I can't make it go away. I've tried adjusting the bridge- didn't work. Tried the truss rod- didn't work either. So I called the store where I bought it and they don't have anybody qualified to help me (unfortunately, they're about the only business in town!). Long story short- I'm takin' it back! At the time I only had about $600 to spend, so I thought the Fender would be a good choice. Looked nice and played ok in the store, but since I've been playing with it for 2 weeks at home, I'm just not happy and I am regreting my purchase. Soooooo, to FINALLY get to my question: what mandolins do you all like for the $2K-$4K range (I've decided to spend my laptop $ on a super nice mando instead)? Of course, Gibson F-5 Master, right (I found a 1967 for $4500)? But what about the F-5L "fern"(Also $4500)? I know they're a little outta of the $4K limit, but I MAY be able to stretch! I also like the F-9- not too flashy, but still nice looking! I'm going out of town to a music store on Sat. to play a bunch of mandos. The people at "Taylor Guitars" recommended this store (Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI) to me when I bought one of their guitars, so I'm hoping for better luck there. I thought I'd try to get your opinions first. I didn't find the right solution from the internet. References: www.nickelcreek.info/forum/showthread.php?t=38343D Explainer Video
